Actress Jessica Chastain recently spoke out about Hollywood hypocrisy at an industry event. The Oscar-nominated actress noted that the industry often preaches values they don't follow.

"This is an industry rife with racism, sexism and homophobia," she said, according to the Hollywood Reporter. She noted that members of the industry are quick to point the finger at others while forgetting their own shortcomings. "[T]here is a clear disconnect between how we practice what we preach in our industry," she noted.

Members of the Hollywood community have recently come under fire after the recent revelations about producer Harvey Weinstein. The New York Times recently reported about many of the allegations of sexual harassment against Weinstein, revelations that eventually led to his own ouster at his company.

That Times article noted that "In public, [Weinstein] presents himself as a liberal lion, a champion of women and a winner of not just artistic but humanitarian awards."

Since those accusations have been made public, many other women have stepped forward telling their own stories about Weinstein's behavior.

Members of the Hollywood community, including two-time Oscar winner Jane Fonda (who has spoken out against President Donald Trump's behavior), have even admitted they were aware of some of the allegations against Weinstein. Others, like Oscar winner Matt Damon, have admitted that they knew Weinstein was a womanizer but didn't realize the enormity of the accusations against him.

After the Weinstein revelations, other revelations about sexual harassment have surfaced including dozens of allegations against writer/director James Toback.
