Blood orange margaritas

Ingredients for two cocktails:

  • 4oz tequila
  • 3oz fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 2oz Cointreau
  • 1oz fresh squeezed blood orange juice
  • Salt, for rims

Directions:

  • Juice your citrus
  • Fill a shallow saucer or dish with a bit of salt—I like pink Himalayan sea salt for this.
  • Use a juiced lime wedge to rim two double old fashioned glasses with juice.
  • Invert glasses into dish with salt in order to salt rims.
  • Fill glasses with ice and place in freezer to chill
  • Add ice, tequila, Cointreau and citrus juices to shaker and shake vigorously (about 20-30 times)
  • Remove glasses from freezer and pour strained mixture over ice in glasses
  • Enjoy!
